About me
Stephany Cataldo is a costume assistant based in the UK. Working across multiple disciplines such as fashion and film producing, Steph is interested in working on projects which bring hope to today's society. She has several years of experience in the world of fashion, having been trained in this subject in New York City. Now, she has just accomplished her first short film, Nightgown, upon her master's degree graduation in Costume from the University of Arts of London.
She is usually inspired by period films like “Emma” (2020) and “Jane Eyre” (1996) or by musical films and musicals such as Moulin Rouge (2001) and West Side Story (both versions). She feels passionate about cabaret costumes, period costumes (1800s-1900s) and 50s fashion.

I visited North America for the first time in 2023, where I expanded my knowledge in sewing and garment construction, as well as in patternmaking. At the beginning of 2024 I studied fashion design, completed the course and got my certificate at the NYSD. I participated in different costume projects while I was in NYC and, later on, in Toronto. Nowadays, I find myself finishing an MA in Costume Design in London at UAL.
In 2025 I wrote, directed and produced my first short film, Nightgown (more information below).
I moved to London in 2018 to finally realized that I wanted to create a path in costume design. I learned and improved my sewing skills at different academies. My passion for this art was clear, so I took small courses in costume for film and TV. I worked as a costume designer for the first time on a short film, Out of Love.
During this period of my life I dedicated my time to learning about jewelry design and jewelry making. I took several courses in Madrid, and I started my first business on Etsy. I also gained experience in the fashion industry as a visual merchandiser assistant and personal shopper.
